Hi, I’m Tess! The heart and hands behind Tess Lucas Photography. I spend my days documenting strong & beautiful love stories, turning once-in-a-lifetime moments into images that feel alive for generations.
My work is shaped by travel, adventure, and the meaningful connections I get to form with the people I get to work with. I love weaving together the sweeping, cinematic moments with the quiet in-betweens - a blend of editorial artistry and candid storytelling that’s full of life, light, and true-to-colour authenticity.
I’m a mother, a travel lover, and an adventure seeker. I draw inspiration from fashion, good food, rich culture, and the way people look at each other when they’re completely themselves. Getting to know my clients is one of my favourite parts of what I do, it allows me to create photographs that feel deeply personal and true to them.
The people, couples, and families who connect with me usually want more than just photos; they want someone who sees them, supports them, and celebrates their love every step of the way.
This is a space for every love story. All bodies, all races, all religions, all abilities, and everyone in the LGBTQSIA+ community are welcome here. Your story matters, and I’m honoured to tell it.

It's my commitment to capture your love story while respecting the beauty and tranquility of the natural world that surrounds us, and acknowledging that we are often on traditional territories and Treaty lands. I'm dedicated to leaving no trace behind and paying our respects to the Indigenous peoples and their connection to these lands.

I Believe...
Palm Springs & Joshua Tree captivate me. The desert's raw beauty makes it ideal for elopements or family getaways, offering tranquility & adventure. I've never been to a desert I didn't love! I feel that there's something amongst the cacti, the red earth and the sand that allow creativity to flow fluidly.

Paris, with its ornate architecture and romantic language, is a dream. Exploring this city with my husband was a delight. Every moment, from savoring wine and cheese to wandering its enchanting streets, felt like pure magic! I actually cried 4 times while we explored Versailles, it is pure opulance.

Mexico holds a special place in our hearts. I've photographed numerous weddings in Mexico and some or mine and my husband's favourite places include Tulum and Cabo San Lucas. The incredible cuisine, rich history, and warm, inviting people make Mexico a world of its own.

Visiting Soest, where my Oma grew up, was a dream come true. The fairytale-like charm of cobblestone streets and quaint homes had been stories from my Oma for years. Seeing it in person with Garrett was surreal, making Germany a place of our most cherished memories.

Visiting Dubai with my dearest friends was a one-of-a-kind experience. We had the thrill of sleeping in the desert, dressed in stunning gowns for camel rides, stayed on the Palm, ascended the Burj Khalifa, and got completely lost in the beauty of some of the world's most incredible mosques.

Visiting New York City was a lifelong dream for me! Gossip Girl and Sex & the City had created this vision of NYC that I had to experience for myself. The city that never sleeps with its iconic skyscrapers and bustling energy is exhilerating! The vast culinary scene made every meal an adventure. The fashion and art were inspiring. NYC is a place where dreams come true, and I cannot wait to work here again!

Nova Scotia, my home sweet home! I'll never tire of antique shopping, apple picking, exploring Halifax and the surrounding towns, the best beaches, the most beautiful autumn season, and I even miss the rain sometimes. I love returning home to photograph weddings and visit my lifelong friends. I'll always be an East Coaster!
